Guy-dar

I am convinced that guys have guy-dar...you know, radar that alerts the guy who won't commit that you've started something great with someone new. Their radar spikes and as a result they actually call or contact you somehow.

You can't help but think back to a time when all you wanted was that one person to want to be with you. You finally come to terms that they aren't interested and it's time to move on to someone else. No sooner do you move on and begin to feel like you have everything you've ever wanted, when they try to force themselves back into the picture just to confuse you.

I'm learning this happens a lot...and not just to me! And there's really not much you can do about it, except maybe have a good laugh and realize you're with the person you are supposed to be with (at the time) and that other person will just have to wait until you are available again.

This was actually something I was thinking through about 6 months ago. But the real question lies in how that guy from your past 'ponies up' when you unexpectedly become available again. Only time will tell.

Blogs

I love blogs! I love reading them, talking about them, getting other people to read them, etc. Unfortunately, the love doesn't flow as fast when it comes to writing blogs. Today, in order to demonstrate how easy it is to blog, I figured I would try and remember the log in for this blog. I did and threw up a quick blog post to make sure I knew what I was doing.

However, in the process, my love for having my own blog actually came back. I decided to take a trip down memory lane and review some, or actually all, of the past posts. It's funny how as much as you grow and change, there are certain fundamental parts of your being that stay exactly the same. There were a handful of posts written back in 2005, that I easily could have written about how I was feeling the last few weeks. The humorous part is that you can't always come out and talk specifics, so ironically, while the posts will be forever stored online as part of this blog, I can't always remember the exact person or situation that ignited the flame for me to write about a specific topic or share how I was feeling.

Boxers or Briefs?

It's a game, silly. No, not that type of game. It's an actual board game. Errr, it doesn't have a board...but you would find it in the board game aisle.

A few weeks ago on vacation for my friend's bachelorette party, she exclaims that she wants to stay in and play board games. (Clearly this is a friend from high school, lol.) So we head over to Walmart and I see a box on the shelf for a game called Boxers of Briefs. I don't even think I really read the back of the box. It was under $15 so I threw it in the cart as my contribution to game night.

Probably the best $15 I spent on that trip. Even better than the dirty banana drinks at the bar. Talk about a fun game! It's sort of hard to explain, but essentially every player has a bunch of cards that have numerous color coded phrases on them. For instance, the red line phrase might begin with "I like.." or the blue line phrase starts with "I want..."

When it's your turn, you roll the dice to determine what "I phrase" your fellow game players should be looking at. Each player chooses the card they have with the phrase that is most true or most funny. Then you review and read aloud all the phrases that were selected for you and award a point for the one that is most true for you and the one that is most funny for you.

I played it again this weekend and it was totally fun. Had to throw this reco out there for anyone who is interested in picking up a good game.
